Yahoo! Open Application
PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Adobe Flash / AS3 (Animated Tag Cloud), XML feeds
CNNMoney wanted to have one of the first few applications available with the new Yahoo homepage launch that will help direct more traffic to the CNNMoney.com main site.
The application included a custom animated tag cloud of the most recent and most popular keywords, a voting poll that integrates with the existing data on the CNNMoney.com site, a custom gallery viewer with JavaScript-based popups, and integration to the Yahoo portal to create a personalized toolbar that displays data based on the user's location. All stories and image assets were taken, as feeds, from existing content from the CNNMoney.com site.

The Student Press Initiative (SPI) at Teachers College, Columbia University has steadily grown from its principle founding in 2002. Focused on the organization's mission of revolutionizing education by advancing teacher leadership in reading and writing instruction, SPI hired Simande to redesign their existing website to reflect their tremendous growth and to generate more interest from fellow teachers across the nation.
Highlights of this project include the development of a custom content management system (CMS) that included an administrative dashboard with drag-and-drop capabilities, a built in e-mail subscription system, a custom video player, and a JavaScript powered "Apple Coverflow" browser to navigate SPI's printed publications. The site also includes integration of jQuery's powerful UI library to handle the site's dynamic interactions.

CNNMoney.com enlisted the services of Simande for this year's anticipated release of Money Magazine's annual Best Places to Live list. In an effort to reach a new, coveted demographic, Simande worked with CNNMoney.com to put together an interactive Facebook application that allow users to take a quiz to find out which town on the Best Places to Live list would most appropriately suit them.
In addition to developing the quiz, Simande provided CNNMoney.com a customized administrative page that provided relevant usage statistics for the web application. These quantitive results help CNNMoney.com know that Facebooks expansive social networking infrastructure and user-base of more than 200 million active members is indeed an effective marketing platform and a great investment.

MBUSA Training & Education needed a way to train their dealership mechanics through short videos about various auto repair topics.
Yin and Young delivered a site that allows these instructional videos to be streamed from the web, downloaded to the mechanic's computer, or viewed on an iPod as a video podcast.
With simple navigation, bold breadcrumbs, the ability to view videos by topic, and detailed animated instructions on how to download the videos as podcasts, MTC allowed the mechanics to quickly find and access the videos at their convenience.
